Dec. 11, 2001 - Aerocopter, Inc. Introduces a Revolutionary Third Generation Aircraft "The Humming MTRNews
2007As a result of 5 years research studies and prototype modeling, AeroCopter, Inc. through its direct internal researcher and consulting with Empirical Systems Aerospace, LLC and David W. Hall (DHC Engineering) Professor of Aerospace Engineering, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, have completed final configuration concepts for a PAV/VLJ aircraft called "Sarus" and UAV as a Front Line Delivery System (FLDS) called "Kestrel" for civilian and military purposes. The AeroCopter's Sarus and Kestrel both utilizing the most innovative advanced technology VTOL Rotary system such as: Counter-Rotating Mono-Tilt-Rotor Architecture; Unique Co- Axial Rotor configuration; Electronic controlled rotor blade; Unified propulsion system for hover and cruise mode; and Utilizing MAGLEV technology, frictionless rotary ring.
2006
AeroCopter team have completed the 2nd prototype model with 12 ft diameter utilizing 4 ducted fan engines, 8 blades and Mono-Tilt-Rotor completed. Performed comprehensive structural, ground flight control and aerodynamic testing to evaluate systems/subsystems components. Successfully tested the construction of permanent magnet and mechanical roller wheel Mono-Tilt-Rotor rotary ring assemblies. Measured lift, drag, RPM, Gs and performed smoke flow analysis testing over the blades at low- high RPMs with variable angle of attacks to understand the vortex flow behavior. Resulted to a new configuration-4 with Counter Rotating Blade, Twisted Blade (Rotor) configuration and Unified Propulsion Systems during VTOL and cruise modes for a small UAV and PAV vehicles.
2004
Based on model prototyping and performance studies, a new configuration-3 has been created to use the latest innovative technologies. As part of new market strategic planning, company decided to enter the VTOL Unmanned Vehicle(UAV) and Personal Air Vehicle markets.
2003
First prototype RC model construction with 5 ft diameter completed for feasibility study and structural analysis. First Model Photo Gallery
2002
Obtained patent authorization of the invention with 290 claims as of June 11, 2002. US 6,402,088 B1
2002
Preliminary Structural Conceptual design and analysis of Humming configuration-1 with inner and outer ring completed by Dr. Jerome Connor at MIT and Dr. Susan Faraji from U Mass Lowell. Resulted in resizing and new configuration design.
